We are looking for two talented scientists to embark on fully funded PhD studentships with us to further our understanding of different aspects of the structure and function of host-associated microbiomes.
1) Characterisation of the genomic dark matter in host-associated microbiomes. More information here.
2) Understanding the role of bacteriophages in natural microbial communities. More information here
Both projects provide an opportunity to gain world-class expertise in microbial genomics and bioinformatics, particularly as they are applied to gut microbial ecosystems. The successful candidate will be a member of the ecological and evolutionary genomics lab under the direct supervision of Dr. Chris Creevey (http://www.aber.ac.uk/en/ibers/staff/chc30/), and be a member of a thriving team of researchers in the BBSRC-funded herbivore gut ecosystem group in IBERS.
The closing date for applications is 29th April 2016.
