Group success at the 1st Student Symposium on Computational Biology and Life Sciences

The group recently attended the 1st Student Symposium on Computational Biology and Life Sciences in the University of South Wales on October 8th. Which is affiliated with the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) Student Council, and are the Regional Student Group for the UK
The symposium had a great range of very interesting student and early postdoc talks and posters. Two of the students from the group (Francesco Rubino and Sam Nicholls) were both selected to give oral presentations, and Sam won the best presentation prize. Also from IBERS, Stefani Dritsa won the best poster prize. Finally, our new visiting postdoctoral researcher Dr. Karen Siu Ting was awarded a partnering award from HPC Wales with an account and 5,000 CPU hours for her research.
